HOIST INSPECTION/MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
Our hoist inspection/preventative maintenance service is conducted according to OSHA section 1910.179 Overhead and Gantry Cranes. Checking the following conditions for each hoist:
Hooks Upper and lower hooks will be checked for loose retaining hardware, cracks, excessive wear, bending or spreading, free rotation and damaged latches.
Brakes Motor brakes will be checked for improper operation, excessive drift and excessive disc wear.
Limit Switches Will be checked for proper operation.
Housings Will be visually inspected for distortion, cracks and loose hardware.
Hoist Cables Will be inspected for broken wires at end connections, broken wires along lengths, excessive wear, kinks, and corrosion damage.
Wiring Will be examined for loose connections, fraying and proper festoon travel.
Operation Controls Will be operationally checked for proper functioning.
Load Chain Will be checked for binding, cracks, corrosion, wear, deformation, or other damage.
Lubrication Levels will be checked as appropriate.
If any abnormal condition not listed above is found, it will be brought to your attention.
Following the inspection, a checklist sheet will be furnished for each powered hoist, indicating the inspection date, condition of each hoist, and any repair recommendations.
At your option, we will provide price and delivery information on any parts that we recommend be replaced.
Should you decide to take advantage of this program, we request the following be provided:
(1) A ladder, work stage, or other similar method of getting up to the unit.
(2) Access to your hoist model operation manuals to extract model information such as lube charts, illustrated parts breakdowns, etc.

SLING INSPECTIONS
There are two types of sling inspections required by current OSHA regulation, the frequent inspection and the periodic inspection. The frequent inspections should be done each day before the slings are used. The periodic inspections should be done a minimum of once a year, with inspection records maintained. We can provide instruction on both type of inspections, if needed.
The Sling Inspection Service we provide is the periodic inspection. Inspection reports will consist of two parts; The Sling Inspection Report, and The Consolidated List of Recommended Repairs. The latter serves as an itemized quotation for the repair or replacement of all noted deficiencies. Slings recommended for repair or removal will be isolated and/or tagged.
SMALL HOIST REPAIR
Within our service area small electric chain and manual chain hoists will be picked up and delivered free of charge. Some field service is available depending on hoist model and problem symptoms.
Hoists will be diagnosed with a repair estimate provided prior to doing the repairs. If you elect to go ahead with the repair, the initial inspection fee will be waived. If the hoist is extensively repaired, or when otherwise necessary, a rated load test will be performed and a test certificate will be supplied. Repairs are warranted for 90 days.

LIFTING SAFETY SEMINAR
Our Lifting Safety Seminar is designed to help you improve lifting safety awareness within your organization. The seminar is arranged according to the following basic structure:
(1) OSHA Safe Operating Practices para. 1910.184. A review of this material is good at every opportunity as it points out the most common and probable sources of accidents and injuries.
(2) Choosing task-appropriate lifting slings and attachments. How to determine if a product is load-rated and qualified for lifting.
(3) Application of the OSHA inspection criteria to nylon and alloy chain slings and attachments. Here we would view examples of non-qualified or defective components.
